Editoria - JWACS IS ONE YEAR OLD

The Journal of the West African College of Surgeons (JWACS) is now one year old. The journal is owned solely by the West African College of Surgeons and it is published quarterly in full in both English and French to reflect the bilingual nature of the West African subregion.

The journal publishes high quality manuscripts in all the surgical subspecialties as well as updates on the management of disease in the surgical subspecialties. It is the mission of the journal to serve as an international portal for the publication of scholarly research works with relevance to the management of surgical and related diseases in West Africa, Africa as well as other parts of the world.

The Editorial Board wishes to express its gratitude to all the reviewers of the manuscripts submitted for publication especially as they were able to submit their assessor’s reports within a fortnight. All the manuscripts are received electronically and assessed as such. This has made it possible for assessors’ report to be sent to the authors of each manuscript within two weeks of submission. More details about the journal and the Instructions to Authors in both English & French could be assessed in the journal website: www.jwacs-jcoac.org. We continue to encourage submission of quality manuscripts from researchers in the subregion, Africa and other parts of the world as we progress toward the indexing of the journal in the PubMed.

Thank you.

Professor Benjamin T. Ugwu FWACS.
Editor-in-Chief.
